Like CPR, QPR uses a “chain of survival” concept: early recognition of warning signs, early intervention, early referral, and early treatment. QPR is taught in approximately ninety minutes, both in the classroom and online, and is intended raise awareness while empowering gatekeepers to act quickly to mitigate acute risk, avert suicide attempts, and avoid unnecessary hospitalizations.
