Purple and Turquoise

At the American Assocation of Suicidolog Conference in 2003, held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, fellow survivors of suicide loss, Michelle Linn-Gust and Sandy Martin, passed around two ribbons folded together. Purple and turquoise were selected to give suicide a color combination of its own and these colors were chosen because they represent healing. The pins and wristbands are sold worldwide to use at events remembering loved ones and/or events to create awareness around the issue of suicide. To purchase your pins/wristbands, see this web site:

Hi, I am an MSW student at Monmouth University in NJ and my field of interest and research is in youth suicide awareness and prevention. I was wondering if you knew how I can get the purple and turquoise ribbon pins? I am in interested in getting them to hand out to my class and teacher during my presentation on youth suicide. Any information would be greatly appreciate. Thanks, Stefanie
