Is suicide a crime?

Historically, various states listed the act as a felony, but all were reluctant to enforce it. By 1963, six states still considered attempted suicide a crime (North and South Dakota, Washington, New Jersey, Nevada, and Oklahoma, which repealed its law in 1976). By the early 1990s only two U.S. states still listed suicide as a crime, and these have since removed that classification. In some U.S. states, suicide is still considered an unwritten "common law crime" as stated in Blackstone's Commentaries. (So held the Virginia Supreme Court in Wackwitz v. Roy in 1992.) As a common law crime, suicide can bar recovery for the family of the suicidal person in a lawsuit unless the suicidal person can be proven to have been "of unsound mind."

I’ve been trying to find anything that states it is a crime in Wisconsin. I made a near successful attempt 3 years ago. When they revived me in the ER, I was cuffed to the bed and police were waiting to take a statement from me (which was ridiculous because I had so much sleeping pills and anxiety meds in me that I don’t even remember talking to them) As soon as I was good enough to be released, I was transported in cuffs by the sheriff’s department to a mental health facility, for a mandated 72 hour hold. I was served papers while there to appear in court, and transported again, in cuffs, by the sheriff’s department. I was appointed an attorney, and had to comply with the judges orders, which were, to continue all prescribed medication, submit to random drug screening, report to a social worker, and continue seeing my psychiatrist. My record would then be clean in 90 days if I complied. I live with chronic pain from 3 failed back surgeries. Because of this so called “fake” opioid epidemic, law enforcement notified my pain management dr and they took my meds away. I DID NOT take any pain meds in my overdose, yet they still notified them. They never notified my psychiatrist, and those were the pills I took. Oh, let me point out the fact that there were about 3 squad cars that showed up at my house, and ripped the house apart, as it was considered a crime scene. If this is the way they are going to treat people, they better do something about the lack of mental health care in this country.
