Attempt Survivors

DragonflyIn the stigma of suicide, people who attempted suicide have lived a quiet existence, afraid to speak about their experience of wanting to end their pain. The information available about and for suicide attempt survivors remains small, but here we offer the opportunity to open the discussion.

As this site is not for therapy, if you are feeling suicidal, please call 1-800-273-8255 where someone is available to help you 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

I am an attempt survivor. In my area, there is very little outside support for our recovery. I recently survived my 2nd major attempt and am disappointed at the lack of outreach support in my area. I'm not what people see as someone who suffers from depression. The outside shell does a good job at keeping in the sickness.

I have had moments (more than 5) where I have prepard for my suicide. I have note written, its on my pillow. I have three pill containers all filled with tylonal, asprin, and advil. I have my glass of water. im crying. I start with taking one of each, but then I hear the garage door open so I quickly put everything back in my safe and get in bed to make it look as if im taking a nap. I have suicide thoughts daily and I know I need help im just afraid to ask for it.
